A Rug Gallery Showroom Unlike Any Other

Dove & Distaff is a family owned drapery and upholstery shop that has been in operation for over 50 years. It is located in one of Wakefield's historic 19th century buildings.

In 2009 we opened Dove and Distaff Rug Gallery and expanded our showrooms to include extraordinary rugs, from Company C and Dash & Albert, both New England companies. In addition to rugs, our four show rooms include beautiful handwoven bags, throws and pillows. We also carry placemats, runners, napkins, lampshades, and wallpaper by Stroheim and Farrow & Ball.

We are proud to offer rugs with the "goodweave" label, indicating rugs made without the use of child labor.Through the purchase of one of these rugs, you are helping to build a market for humanitarian goods and put an end to the use of exploitive child labor. In addition to monitoring and inspecting factories and looms, goodweave inspectors rescue illegal child workers, who are offered rehabilitation, education, vocational training, and more. A portion of the rug price goes to help these children reinvent their lives.
